Founders Camp 1

Founders Camp, Londolozi

Londolozi, derived from a Zulu word meaning ‘protector of all living things’, is the first game reserve in the world to be awarded Relais & Chateaux status. Recognised as much for its powerful combination of geography and wildlife as for the magnetic atmosphere guests call the ‘Londolozi feeling’.

'Protector of All Living Things’

Within the heart of Kruger National Park this private game reserve is known for its remarkable concentration of wildlife including white rhino, elephant and lion. But more than anything its popularity is due to the frequency of up close leopard sightings.

If that sounds like your ideal safari experience, you can choose from one of six luxurious Relais & Chateaux camps including the enchanting Founders Camp, where ten idyllic superior chalets repose in the shade of ancient matumi trees along the banks of the Sand River.

Founders Camp 3

Founders Camp has a ‘bushveld Bohemia’ style in which nature based colours are accentuated by wallpaper and handmade cushions for a contemporary safari feel. Remaining true to its conservational roots, the camp uses recycled elements of nature in their most natural and raw form.

Founders Camp 2

Founders Camp is also home to the Londolozi yoga deck, a wonderful sanctuary suspended high in the arms of a 500-year-old ebony tree. Inclusive daily classes are held whilst nyala, bushbuck and monkeys abound. On special occasions elephants will move through the riverine bushveld below.

Londolozi is a special place, recently voted by Conde Nast readers as their Number 1 resort in South Africa.
